AVG may alert about the keygen as a trojan. It’s a false-positive and nothing dangerous. You may have disable the resident shield while opening it.

Who needs this bloated mutant of a viewer? FastStone Image Viewer is light, fast and free. And it does what it’s supposed to do flawlessly.

Well, I used this app years ago, 10years+.. It used to be excellent, really fast and lightweight, much better than paint… It was the best at what it did back then but you know, time makes fools of us all!
It seems apps start out brilliant and focused with a clear directive in sight. e.g. the fastest smallest image viewer available. I guess the original teams behind ‘em either lose direction or simply move on.
Not just this app though. I remember when Nero was the smallest quickest cd burning solution out there, when McAfee was the least intrusive and lightest av and when RealPlayer was the only video player worth using.
As for FastStone, I have not used it as now windows inbuilt pictureviewer is faster than any third party app. Unless you’re running a linux based OS I don’t know why anyone would have need for it.

@5 I like into what ACDSee has developed. Multi format media support is excellent addition to it. Also ability to quickly organize and manage media files is definitely nice. Most of the features I guess I’ll never be using but there are lots of different people and tons of different needs. If they haven’t got to the point they’re at now, I guess lots of us would end up having tons of different apps just to be able to organize and view images, specially if there where large amounts to deal with.
@6 It sure does but does it support RAW images?! Not really, so it wouldn’t do for any1 who’s into photography. :p

BTW when extracting, my AV software finds a trojan in keygen.exe. I tried different downloads and all of them seem to contain the same file.

***FastStone*** is definately NOT a fast picture viewer. Take my word for it.
