Today After nearly two years, The Streets are back – and it seems that frontman Mike Skinner has fallen victim to the credit crunch, thealbum title and song also named Everything Is Borrowed.  They have a very interesting sound / style in my opinion and figured many of you may want to give a listen to.  Lately i been trying to add a little something to the music archive section.  I hope you all enjoy

Album review: Mike Skinner – the self-proclaimed “Picasso of geezer garage” – has always been a tough artist to get a handle on. Never sitting comfortably in one genre, the Birmingham-born producer/singer seems to straddle a line of his own creation.

His albums, too, seem to stay one step to the side of the chasing pack. His first, the Mercury-nominated Original Pirate Material, tore the moribund UK Garage scene to pieces and reconstructed it in Skinner’s own image – that of a young 20-something clubber disillusioned with the absolute bilge released by the likes of the Artful Dodger.

Then, just as his breakthrough second album, the month-in-the-life geezer concept album A Grand Don’t Come For Free, had the nascent East London rock scene desperately scrabbling for kitchen sink metaphors, he released The Hardest Way To Make An Easy Living, a coruscating and at times thoroughly unpleasant look at his own tragic inability to deal with stardom.

And now – just as we’ve come to terms with the fact that he’s a coke-abusing, popstar-molesting failure climbing the walls of his own drug hell, Skinner turns in an album that eschews almost everything that he’s done before – a blissfully happy treatise on… atheism?

Today C4 brings us another trendy hip-hop release. We’ve posted a bit of Hip-Hop here and there and we try to supply you with a diverse selection of music releases. Hopefully this one by Nelly doesn’t let true hip-hop fans down. Enjoy the tunes.

Album review: Combining Will Smith’s friendliness with St. Louis slang and a down-home drawl, Nelly has mastered his own brand of crossover appeal. On his fifth album, he mostly sticks to that pop-rap formula, cranking his distinctly melodic flow to hyper-speeds and playing the good-natured hedonist on cuts like “Party People.” But when he tries to come off hard on a handful of Dirty South brawlers, he ends up sounding generic: “U Ain’t Him” finds him rhyming about gunplay and warning no one in particular about “running up on the wrong nigga.” Sixteen different guests help Knuckles through its changes of pace, with big names like Snoop Dogg, Fergie and Pharrell dropping by. And though these famous assistants may point to concerns about Nelly’s declining market position, they also deliver some highlights: Check out the Chuck D.-assisted “Self Esteem,” a Seventies funk-flavored jam where Nelly carps about racism, and hooky pleasures like “Body on Me,” where Nelly and Akon compete to come up with the catchiest way to express how horny they are.

Tonight C4 brings us the latest from the trendy DJ Kahled. On this cd you’ll see many of today’s hip-hop superstars. From what I’ve seen there has been a P2P rip of this going around for a few days now.

Bio: For two years, DJ Khaled bigged up, dropped bombs, and rewound enough tracks to be crowned the official voice of South Florida. Never one to just sit comfortably on the throne, Khaled decided to “takeover” mainstream radio as the deejay for one of Miami’s most notable radio stations, 99 Jamz. In February 2008, Khaled launched his new label, We The Best Music, with an exclusive partnership with Def Jam Records.

Here’s a new music video from Daughtry.  Group “MVHiTS”  brings us a rather interesting music vid today i must say.  Daughtry – What About Now shows harrowing images of poverty, natural disasters, and war are used to bring home the message that we all can make a difference through volunteer efforts and the work of all us is needed. The song and video close with the simple question “What about now?”

Good Eve… Tonight, Group “XXL” brings us a retail rip of Yin Yang Twins – The Official Work. ZeroSec’s been a bit slow with music releases, so here I am with my 2nd post trying to fill the void. Be gentle and I hope you enjoy.

  1. The Ying Yang Twins began their climb to fame in 2000 with the hit single, ‘Whistle While You Twurk’, eventually landing a deal with TVT Records. Their first album released under TVT quickly sold to platinum level numbers. Now, with the music game changing every day, the Ying Yang Twins have prepared ‘The Official Work’ to soothe their fans after a bit of a hiatus.
  2. Gave it a quick listen myself and found plenty of references to big booties, strippers and that damn party life. Tracks like “Cheech and Chong” are the ode to Mary-Jane, as the name would suggest, and they even promise to open a can of “Whoop Ass” on their critics. Literarians they are not, but no doubt this will sell a ridiculous amount of records, particularly down South.

2:50 AM - August 30th, 2008 Posted in MP3, Music, Non-Scene |

Hello everyone. This is my first post, i hope you all enjoy it! Group 420 has done an “internal” rip of Everlast – Love, War, and the Ghost of Whitey Ford. This is an Internal release  because this is VBR v0 (extreme), not v2 (preset standard).  Love, War and The Ghost of Whitey Ford is an upcoming album by rapper/musician Everlast. It is scheduled to be released on September 23, 2008 on Everlast’s own record label Martyr Inc. On a sidenote, this is not a scene release. Since a lot of good music is released earlier on p2p, we will be covering these as well.

Erik Schrody (born August 18, 1969, in Valley Stream, New York), better known by his stage name Everlast, is an Irish-American rapper and singer-songwriter, best known for his hit “What It’s Like”, and for his genre-crossing mix of hip-hop and acoustic-based rock music. He was the frontman for rap group House of Pain until 1996.
