Here’s UP2DATE bringing us the latest “up to date” version of Windows XP :D There are two releases here, one’s your standard Windows XP disc, and the other is unattended. This means that you only need to set a few settings like what drive to install to, formatting options, your name and it will do all the other options for you. Can be a real time saver! Personally, I would recommend the standard release, and use nLite to create your own personalised unattended setup disk if you so need (google for guides if you’re unsure). Enjoy!

Description: Microsoft Windows XP is the first operating system coming from Redmond to combine the advantages of the Windows NT core with the ease of use and flexibility of the Windows 9x series. Basically we can state that Windows XP is the fusion of the best of two worlds: Windows 2000 & Windows Me. After years of promising, Microsoft finally did it: Windows 9x is condemned to death (although itll be supported until 2003) so home users now have access to the unprecedented reliability of the NT engine. Windows XP has made the news so much since it’s inception it’s hard not to want to be apart of the Windows eXPerience. Windows XP was internally referred by Microsoft as Neptune at first and later renamed Whistler before finally becoming ‘XP’. After several years of intensive development Microsoft has probably released the most ambitious version of Windows yet - similar to what Windows 95 was to Windows 3.1. Windows XP will surely mark computing history while OEM and system integrators expect it to boost sales in these economic troubling days. Microsoft Windows XP is available in two different flavours: the Home and Professional editions. Behind the green or blue box lies exactly the same operating system with a few minor feature differences. The professional edition adds some extra business oriented features over the Home edition with the support of SMP systems, Active Directory and IIS Web server.

Next up of the operating systems recently released thanks to BIE is an updated Vista release (x86 and x64 soon), which as usual have been integrated with all the updates and requires no serial / activation etc. Just follow install notes as mentioned in the NFO’s.

I’m not sure why you will want to use Vista on a fresh install when Windows 7 is available, but no doubt a few of you will have need of this. Enjoy…

BIE hasn’t released the x64 version yet, but we’ll update this post when they do! ;)

Description: Windows Vista Ultimate with SP3, the choice for those who want to have it all. When you want to have it all, including the ability to shift smoothly between the worlds of play and productivity, there’s Windows Vista Ultimate. You’ll never have to worry about having the most advanced capabilities-they’re all here. This edition of Windows Vista offers an advanced, business-focused infrastructure, mobile productivity, and a premium home digital entertainment experience, all in a single offering.

Another nice release from BIE here with Microsoft’s Windows Server 2008 R2. This is the x64 Standard edition, with all the updates that have been released so far already integrated. It’s nice software if you have a need for it, although linux can normally do the job if you want to run a server.

Many thanks to BIE for another cracking release…

Description: Windows Server 2008 R2 builds on the award-winning foundation of Windows Server 2008, expanding existing technology and adding new features to enable IT professionals to increase the reliability and flexibility of their server infrastructures. New virtualization tools, Web resources, management enhancements, and exciting Windows 7 integration help save time, reduce costs, and provide a platform for a dynamic and efficiently managed data center. Powerful tools such as Internet Information Services (IIS) version 7.5, updated Server Manager and Hyper-V platforms and Windows PowerShell version 2.0 combine to give customers greater control, increased efficiency and the ability to react to front-line business needs faster than ever before.

Well we are a little way into December, and a new month means a new update for the OS’s. BIE are on the money as usual and bring us both x86 and x64 versions of Windows 7. I would say for most people Win7 is the operating system of choice, it’s superior to Vista and while XP still has its charms there’s no hiding the fact it’s an old dog which is struggling to learn the new tricks of modern hardware developments. Anyway, as usual with the BIE releases: follow the instructions in the NFO and enjoy this copy of Windows 7 with no activation / serial issues! :)

Description: Windows 7 includes a number of new features, such as advances in touch and handwriting recognition, support for virtual hard disks, improved performance on multi-core processors, improved boot performance, DirectAccess, and kernel improvements. Google announced Chrome OS just couple days ago. It is time to try it out for yourself. By the looks, it is a linux kernel with a Chrome browser on top of it (I didn’t really read all that much about it). The idea behind the OS is that nothing gets stored on the computer locally but all data goes on the web services. This is probably ideal for netbooks and people who do nothing more than browse the internet. There are loads of them! It would make a lightweight netbook with nothing more than motherboard, screen, keyboard and a touchpad. Chrome OS could even go on your touch screen kitchen computer. Now that YouTube supports 1080p videos it could even make some sort of DVR/streamer device. Google Docs catching up to Microsoft Office (as announced by Google) I can see how Google is bringing all their services together. In my opinion, there are quite a few uses for Chrome OS. Read more for screenshots, download links to VMware hard drive image and how to run it on your computer.

Description: Google Chrome OS is a project by Google Inc. to develop a lightweight computer operating system devoted to using the World Wide Web. Announced on July 7, 2009, it is set to have a publicly available stable release during the second half of 2010. The Linux-based operating system will sport a graphical user interface based on Google’s Chrome web browser and will run on systems with either x86 or ARM processors. Chrome OS is designed for netbooks and is thus separate from the Android operating system, which was designed primarily for use on smartphones, with support for conventional applications running on the device. The Chrome OS user interface will take a minimalist approach, much like the company’s Chrome web browser, and will rely solely on cloud computing, with all applications residing on remote servers, rather than on the device itself. Hence Chrome OS is aimed at users who spend most of their computer time on the Internet.

Windows Server 2008 R2 edition was recently released. BIE has released Standard edition with integrated November updates. If you don’t know what this software does you probably don’t need it. On the funnier side of things, it is always fun to take a screenshot with something out of the ordinary on microsoft websites. So here is a screenshot of their twitter feed on Windows Server Developer Center page. Download and test this release from BIE! Don’t forget to buy it. UPDATE: Just wanted to include another screenshot :)

Hi guys, I’m a new editor here and i thought i would kick things off with an operating system. Windows 7 is much improved over existing vista, faster, looks better and less buggy, has all the drivers you’ll need out the box and i have only had blue screen of death 16 times so far, I kid I kid. X64 version runs like a dream and the guys at BIE have never let me down when it comes to easy install/activation, i have installed this on pc’s, netbooks and laptops and all have seen an improvement over Vista and comparably similar results as XP. Try it out, if you use Linux I’m sure you’ll find a way to hate this OS.

Note: This release was nuked due to being a duplicate of UP2DATE’s, but BIE are well known and trusted so we decided to post this version.

Zerosec presents Windows 7

Over the past couple of nights, we’ve been asking what we can give; what we can do to help our loyal visitors, because we collectively don’t consider ourselves to be just a release site - oh no. We like to think we listen to you, and one of the things we heard a lot of, was the request for more apps, more operating systems - so I thought we’d start it off with a bang and kick off with an intro into the very latest software, and then introduce you to desktop publishing, anti virus software, audio and visual and of course, office and the options that are out there, as well as an informed consensus on each to provide you with the tools to get your system at its very peak performance. In this post, which looks at the most vital part of your PC that isn’t software, we’ll cover the Operating System; the kind of specifications you should look at for a pleasant running experience, and of course the tools you should install straight away to get you up and running.

Big Article after the jump.

welcome to windows 7

Win7UltiHeo guys, first of all sorry, that I am not posting so often atm, but I am REALLY busy with the so called “RL” and its not just me alone, all of the staff are either gone on holidays or just busy with exams… Nevertheless I thought it would be quite appropriate to quickly tell you about the latest Windows 7 release (yes I know its some days old). It’s build string is “6.1.7264.0.win7_rtm.090622-1900″ and its directly from the RTM branch (expect the FiNAL RTM version to surface after the 13th of July). Some of you may ask yourselves why I am not writing about the “E” version (MICROSOFT.WINDOWS.7.E.BUILD.7264.WIN7_RTM.X64.ENGLISH.DVD-VINYLZINE) and its simply due to the fact that the Internet Explorer has been removed (on behalf of the European Union), but there is still somuch code left, so it doesnt really make sense.

NOTE: Microsoft’s announced its Euro version of Windows 7, affectionately and officially dubbed Windows 7 E, will not come packaged with Internet Explorer, or any other browser for that matter. Windows 7 will be offered in Europe in all of the versions that will be available here in the United States, both 32- and 64-bit, with an “E” at the end of the product name (for instance, Windows 7 Home Premium E). The E versions of Windows 7 will ship at the same time as Windows 7 ships in the rest of the world, and they will be available in 23 European languages.

Description: Windows 7 it’s the next version of Windows for PCs, and it’s the result of working hand-in-hand with our partners and with people who use Windows in the real world every day. We’re paying particular attention to the things they’re telling us are important to them and will make their PCs work the way they want them to—things like enhanced reliability, responsiveness, and faster boot and shut-down. We’re also trying to make their everyday tasks easier, like connecting and syncing devices, browsing the web, and managing a home network.
