xSCR have released a DVD screener of 2009 comedy Motherhood starring Uma Thurman. The film went on limited release in the US in October, I don’t think this is my cup of tea but could be yours…

Quite a surprise from p2p land with a good quality screener of this latest interpretation of Conan Doyles “Sherlock Holmes”. This is a flick that has enjoyed some excellent reviews and has a strong stable of talent so it should be quite an enjoyable ride. They didn’t even bother to blur the watermark. I’ve read that both of ToXiCs releases are missing content (about a minute or so) so i assume this will be the same. Group “FOXNEWS” brings us a DVDSCR of the film Fantastic Mr. Fox which is a new animation film based on the based on the Roald Dahl children’s novel of the same name. The film stars the voices of George Clooney and Meryl Streep and is highly critically acclaimed with a rating of 8.3/10 on IMDB and 93% on RT. ToXiC are back with a V2, technically a rerip but what do they know? I was hoping they would learn from their mistakes first time around, and actually use the advice I sent them, but again, they didn’t perform IVTC on this, and even say they used AutoGK, yuck! On top of that the filters they ran this time are just awful, almost as bad as a KingBen claymation telesync. Regardless of the lack of IVTC, this has all it’s intended content intact so I will still be watching this, shame out the encode quality though.

Quality: OK quality DVD screener with 5.1 AC3 studio audio, with a much smaller watermark than last time, too over-filtered imo.

Note: Seems like it goes ever so slightly out of sync from 1:24:00 onwards. There is also a glitch at 58:05 that results in missing content.

The Road! DVD screener! From ToXiC? Yes, newcomer non-scene group ToXiC have released a DVD screener of highly anticipated film The Road. One I can’t wait to see so I will be watching this release for sure, but I just noticed the framereate and this release has no IVTC performed which is a bumber. But it has 5.1 AC3 audio which is excellent, it has a watermark in the bottom right corner, which I think is a good thing with all these borderline-scene groups re-encoding other releases. Quick note, the nfo says 720×304 but the video is actually 720×320, nothing wrong with that just noting it.

Quality: Decent quality DVD screener with 5.1 AC3 studio audio, a small watermark on video but bearable. The screenshots don’t do the video justice.

Note: Reports that this is missing at least 24 minutes of the film.

Another DVD screener here released by scene group CAMELOT. It’s the turn of “Up In The Air” for the screener treatment, and im so happy that this has come from a decent group rather than some possible reencode from some jokers.

Quality: Bad quality DVD screener, resolution is a little high for the lacking bitrate, the custom quant matrix could be causing the quality loss and “blockyness” of the picture, and for over 100 minutes this should really have been a 2CD release, just a faint watermark along bottom every 10 minutes but no black and white scenes from what I’ve seen.

Remember that fantastic release by PrisM? Well here’s a better one. It looks like FOXNEWS actually managed to get a full version ripping program. For those of you who waited, you are rewarded with a better release and for those of you who didn’t, you will now want to download his screener. Enjoy.

Quality: A good DVDScr. It has “property of lionsgate message down the bottom” which is not abnormal for screeners.

Synopsis: When a decorated Marine goes missing overseas, his black-sheep younger brother cares for his wife and children at home—with consequences that will shake the foundation of the entire family. BROTHERS tells the powerful story of two siblings, thirtysomething Captain Sam Cahill (Tobey Maguire) and younger brother Tommy Cahill (Jake Gyllenhaal), who are polar opposites. A Marine about to embark on his fourth tour of duty, Sam is a steadfast family man married to his high school sweetheart, the aptly named Grace (Natalie Portman), with whom he has two young daughters (Bailee Madison, Taylor Grace Geare). Tommy, his charismatic younger brother, is a drifter just out of jail who’s always gotten by on wit and charm. He slides easily into his role as family provocateur on his first night out of prison, at Sam’s farewell dinner with their parents, Elsie (Mare Winningham) and Hank Cahill (Sam Shepard), a retired Marine.
