A confronting documentary just pre’d that tells the now all to familiar story of a man who is effectively ’set up’ then kidnapped in a foreign country to be used for political and propaganda purposes. The film examines William Sampson’s conditions and experiences of torture and the constant threat of execution during his incarceration. Also examined in detail is the marked and irreversible effect his situation had on both his physical and mental health. Based on ‘Confessions of an Innocent Man: Torture and Survival In a Saudi Prison’ this will certainly be a grueling experience particularly if you have read the book this film is based on. This film does contain some strong and disturbing material so please be mindful of this before you obtain it.
