I certainly keep an ear to the ground when it comes to the FESTiVAL scene and this is one film that must have simply just slipped under the radar, certainly it is the consummate tale of boy and dog. In a film that explores the companionship, trust, friendship and love that can grow from “man’s best friend” Alexander Chaplin as an actor wrangles with the essential question of what it is to feel for a dog and in doing so confronts the painful, if not inevitable question of what it is to lose his father in questionable circumstances. I will say from the outset this was not a film that aired at Cannes
