It is quite usual to refer to the new series of doctor who as "Doctor Who 2005" (where 2005 is the year of the beginning of the show) in order to highligh the differences with the old doctor who series that begun in the 60’s

Doctor Who started in 2005, and most if not all releases since than has the year 2005 as part of the release name, so that nobody would get confused with the older series. Although I can’t imagine anybody not knowing David Tennant from any of the Doctor Who episodes.
