Here’s an album I’m sure a lot of Hip-Hop fans have been anticipating. Jay-Z made an appearance on Real Time with Bill Maher the other day promoting this album and for some reason Bill has the power to make even the most confident people nervous, which I usually find rather amusing. Anyways its a Jay-Z album so it should be pretty promising. Enjoy.

Description: The Blueprint 3 is the upcoming eleventh studio album by American rapperJay-Z, set to be released in the US on September 11, 2009 (UK released September 14), which is 8 years after the release of the first Blueprint. It will be the final installment in The Blueprint trilogy, preceded by the critically acclaimed The Blueprint (2001) and the commercially successful The Blueprint²: The Gift & The Curse (2002). On May 20, 2009 Jay-Z confirmed that he bought out the remainder of hits contract from Def Jam Records in order to start his contract with Live Nation, and therefore The Blueprint 3 will be released under Roc Nation and distributed by Atlantic Records.

Hip-hop used to be very intelligent music, for thinking people. But now it’s just some pop sh1t, although there are a few exceptions.
For real hip-hop you gotta listen to old-school, a tribe called quest, public enemy, etc.

I like it a lot it doesn’t sound like a regular Jay-Z album production wise the lyrics are there though. BP3>Relapse

The album sucks, big time, and this is coming from an avid hiphop fan (although im not fat, im not american, and im not retarded).

Jay-Z hasn’t been at his best since The Black Album, and that wasn’t even his best material (Blueprint 2 ftw). He seems to be trying hard to be diverse in his music with the different beats, but his style and raps don’t fit with the beats. Both Kanye and Kid Cudi have the different, alternative hiphop beats, and they pull it off with their rhymes and flow. You can tell that Kanye’s influence on the beats (all but a couple) have produced the alternative backing, but Jay-Z just doesn’t fit.

He should’ve stuck with the Timbaland instead of fobbing him off.

I can’t believe you said The Blueprint 2 is his best work if anything it was his worse and the song on here that Timbaland made are by far the worst on the whole album except for Reminder and the hook could be better. I think it may be a better album than American Gangster and that was a great cd. I’d have to say "Empire State Of Mind" "Thank You" "What We Talkin Bout" and "On To The Next One" are my favorites A Star Is Born is growing on me more and more and Already Home is nice also there isn’t any song on the album I can say is horrible.

Each to their own man. I respect your opinion, but I stand by mine. Kanye could have been incredible on the album. His feature is UNLISTENABLE. When you have verses on one of the most anticipated albums of recent years, you cannot get away with lyrics such as these:

"i am never sprung, but i springer, jerry." firstly, wtf do you do when u springer? next verse:

"nigga pwoom pwoom pwoom, gimme back gimme room room room, db9 like vroom vroom vroom, young hove what we doing doing doing"

Jay-Z is better than Kanye yes, but he’s still terrible. Few notes:

Run This Town - Incredible beat, lyrically nothing special. This sets the tone for the ENTIRE album. Is it a good album? It’s alright. Is it his best? Definately not. Is it his worst? No, but it’s nearer to that than his best.

Some people still making good hip hop: The Roots, Pigeon John, Mr. Lif, Edan, The Herd, Ratatat, Roots Manuva to name a few… there’s lots of good stuff out there, you just have to dig a bit deeper to discover it.

It’s a shame that this album wasn’t his greatest, I believe that it easily could have been. As stupid as it sounds, even having the name Blueprint 3 would alredy appeal to most fans of Jay-Z. I have to admit, I don’t like Jay-Z, he seems a bit of a twat in real life, but having that much money I guess he can be.

Every since he said "Im not a businessman, Im a business, MAN!" you can kind of see where he’s coming from. I don’t think it’s about in depth rap and lyrics anymore for him, he wants to make money. Putting out a few albums on Live Nation will make him hundreds of millions of dollars, which I guess is what he is focusing on.

Eminem’s album was definately better than his last, and actually pretty good. But the voice isn’t necessary. Listening to The Warning just made you think how good Relapse could’ve been without the gay voice.

You guys ever listen to Immortal Technique?
