Here we have another build of Windows 7! As you can imagine, this is very unstable and the best thing that you can do if you like to try the system it’s to setup a virtual machine for it… enjoy!
Description: Windows 7 it’s the next version of Windows for PCs, and it’s the result of working hand-in-hand with our partners and with people who use Windows in the real world every day. We’re paying particular attention to the things they’re telling us are important to them and will make their PCs work the way they want them to—things like enhanced reliability, responsiveness, and faster boot and shut-down. We’re also trying to make their everyday tasks easier, like connecting and syncing devices, browsing the web, and managing a home network.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. Windows 7 needs a total visual overhaul. This looks 100% like Vista.
October 29th, 2008 at 10:25 pm
I want to see them start from scratch instead of rebuilding on the previous OS(es)
There is also a video (mostly not in English) and also various screenshots

@17 dvlogics - This is about M3 & you upload M1? Useful…..
October 30th, 2008 at 1:46 am
This build is an improvement over 6518, but not much of one. WinBeta came thru again and are usually the best source for MS beta uploads.

Microsoft needs to fix vista up some and/or hand out free copies or something ’cause this is some bs coming out with a new OS and vista has too many hangups.
October 30th, 2008 at 2:06 am
@3, this not M3, this is M2, extracted file : Windows 7 Milestone 2.iso 2.8 GB. lol

Can someone explain to me why everyone hates Vista? I’ve used it without any problems. Well, I had an *ocassional* crash, but I had far more with XP. After the patch I never had a single problem and I do a LOT of things with my computer… video edit, play games, office work, surf the internet for naughty stuff, you get the idea.
So what gives? Is evryone that uses Vista doing something that I’m not? What’s wrong with all you complainers?
October 30th, 2008 at 3:26 am
Regulators will get a hefty gift for christmas from MS that will let the company slide of addons.
October 30th, 2008 at 3:29 am
anyone try this with virtualbox? i cant get it to work with virtualbox. it hangs at "windows is loading files …"
October 30th, 2008 at 3:30 am
wait never mind, it’s working now
October 30th, 2008 at 3:40 am
@ 10 (MiKEOViC):
LOOKS?! haha how about let’s worry about making it WORK first. My problems with Vista have never had anything remotely to do with how it LOOKS. If they are fixing the problems underneath, I’ll be happy.
October 30th, 2008 at 5:48 am
@ 10 (MiKEOViC): It looks like Vista because it’s built off of Vista. There will be nothing new from Vista in the background processes. This is why I don’t understand why people don’t like Vista, it is a good system and anyone that has issues obviously is not using it right. I’ve had Vista running for a while and had no crashes even before SP1. Not to mention, it’s sooo much better to do things than in XP, and I use both in dual boot mode.
October 30th, 2008 at 6:44 am
XP is up to 2-3x faster than Vista. The only good thing about vista is that it forced hardware prices to drop.
October 30th, 2008 at 7:33 am
No xp is not 2-3x times faster than vista, why o why does everyone who has not tried vista always talks it down ?
People just ape each other "Vista is new, new is difficult for me because me iq is below 10, so vista is bad".
Vista was good and now since sp1 is just great ! The only problem with vista was with the start with bad nvidia/ati drivers.
So stop being such a dumbass and just try it, i am sure you will change your mind.
October 30th, 2008 at 8:24 am
@ 29 (vista sucks):
2-3 times faster…?
please…
then stay with xp and stop giving comments
October 30th, 2008 at 11:56 am
Just Get a Mac and stop complaining. Vista is sh|t.
October 30th, 2008 at 12:42 pm
@ 32 (Mac):
played any good games lately?…lol
October 30th, 2008 at 1:13 pm
Just Get a XP and stop complaining. Vista is sh|t.
Seven is ???
October 30th, 2008 at 1:24 pm
@ 3 (294):
THIS IS VISTA ULTIMATE!
Why have deleted the commentary?
October 30th, 2008 at 3:30 pm
@ I’m a PC says:
erm, thats what the PS3 is for?
October 31st, 2008 at 6:10 am
I am not one to play a lot with my computer config but I don’t know why people hate Vista so much. I haven’t had any problems with it, ok, maybe a few BSoDs but that’s about it. I doubt I will be getting the vista Mod, called Vista 7… didn’t they want to call it Vienna? a better name imo.
November 1st, 2008 at 7:26 am
This looks a lot like Linux. Microsoft is starting to copy KDE… What better lack of originality than coming from M$ ? ==> Windows 7
November 1st, 2008 at 10:23 pm
This is actually pretty good for a very early beta, seems extremely stable. Ive had no problems using it in a vm
November 4th, 2008 at 10:23 am
This has 30 day trial?
November 12th, 2008 at 9:54 pm
Well I have it installed and so far the entire OS install takes up 9.5 GB’s of HDD space. Hopefully the guy that made vlite will make a program for this OS to rip out some of the features like windows defender and the useless features from vista.
I am really surprised at this pre-beta thought it is super fast on my system, whereas vista was super slow even after sp1. They are doing something right with this new OS. The superbar is awesome also.
My main problem now is that: 1. Thought vista drivers for Video and audio would work but they don’t, so far this is the only drawback. As long as they can keep this OS fast.. I think they have a winner on there hands. I am really excited to the upcoming beta. Maybe by then creative will have some goddamn drivers out for this OS.
November 12th, 2008 at 10:33 pm
*update* the video and audio drivers work for WIN7. The trick is to make it compatible mode for vista RTM. Seems that it would work for the beta drivers for the gfx beta drivers just put it in vista mode in compat.
Now I am going to test it in games to see how it runs and if it is stable enough.
November 13th, 2008 at 7:37 am
*UPDATE 2* Another problem I am having is trying to get Daemon tools sptd 1.56 installed. After every reboot it wants to be reinstalled again. I even manually downloaded the 1.56 sptd from the website and tried it that way but doesn’t work. I am going to try Alcohol 120%.

The best, so wonderfully fast and easy to use, such a pleasure. W7U makes XP look like the Frankenstein we all love and cherish, or was it the Hunch…, no maybe the one with the Clubf..t
I have not tried Vista i must admit but now that i have made this jump to ’smooth’ i never want to give it back.
