11:07 PM - November 21st, 2009 | Posted in TV | By: WarThis guy’s a bit of a treat if you’re into your cookery programmes; a genius with the way he sees organic, homegrown rearing and cooking of food. If indeed you’re planning on cooking your roast for christmas this year, check out some of this guy’s past series and get some fantastic ideas. If you’ve never seen Hugh before, I’ll give you fair warning that some of his recipes verge on the downright bizarre, but they are nonetheless fantastic to try out.

Episode Summary:
Episode 1
Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstalls back for a brand new series, and with Autumn well and truly in full swing and Winter on its
way its time to stock the larder and enjoy everything these seasons have in store. As Hugh lives in Devon - cider country - hes presented with a problem when it comes to the pear, one of his favourite fruits. As well as eating and cooking with pears
he would like to enjoy them brewed into alcohol - or perry, as pear cider is known. To do this, however, he must leave River
Cottage HQ and head off to Gloucestershire for some expert advice. Fishing is one of Hughs great passions and whether with
line or fly, scuba gear or net, hes endeavoured to try a wide variety of methods to catch his prey. One technique hes has not
attempted yet is professional free diving. After a crash course in learning how to hold huge breaths underwater, he takes to the open sea to try and bag the ultimate shellfish: scallops.
Episode 2
Winter’s on the way as we return to River Cottage for an array of seasonal treats. Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall loves his garden and all that grows in it; but he’s not the only one. Hungry rabbits have surrounded River Cottage and Hugh has
concrete evidence that they are decimating his winter veg. Needing expert advice, he brings in rabbit warreners Ted and Derek to help him manage the invasion. Hugh and his children raid Devon’s rocky coves with French teacher Nathalie Arnold and her family looking for wild mussels.
Nathalie has something up her sleeve that Hugh desperately wants: the French know-how of a spectacular and firey mussel feast known as a mussel eclade. It’s becoming commonplace to find wines that are grown and made under the English sun, but Hugh joins a man who makes wine in his back yard in London. Hugh and wine maker Marko Bojcun think last year’s vintage is very drinkable, but will a discerning British public agree?

mmd - this guy really isn’t a seasonal cook, ALTHOUGH he does raise things like Turkeys and pigs especially for his christmas meal - which only shows how much more impressive he is really.
