I was going to completely ignore this, but noticed Barry Humphries (or Dame Edna Everage) in the subtitles, and thought “what the hell…may as well get the queue out of the way before the rush starts tonight.” Salvation is directed by a fella called Paul Cox, who the university of Deaken seems to speak highly of: “Paul Cox is one of Australia’s most inspired and accomplished auteur filmmakers. He is a director concerned with story telling, presenting nuanced, realistic human dramas that deal with themes such as faith, hope & love. His prolific 30+ filmography includes the AFI-award winning ‘My First Wife’, the cult hit ‘Man of Flowers’ (winner of the Un Certain Regard at the 1984 Cannes Film Festival), ‘A Woman’s Tale’ and ‘Innocence’.”

Quality: As usual, DVDrip quality with Barry Humphries awesomeness

Synopsis: Salvation is the tale of Irina, Gloria and Barry. Irina has left her native Russia in order to support her mother and daughter. She has found herself involved in a life of prostitution, but regards her new-found occupation as a means towards a better life. Gloria is a televangelist with a thriving church franchise. She and Barry are married - a marriage made in heaven Gloria believes. But the good Lord is her real partner.
