http://www.imageflux.net/uploads/681397613009stepbros.jpgIf feels like this movie has been released a hundred times in different forms over the last week or two. It looks mildly entertaining and after viewing the first bit of this to check quality I might have to make time to watch this. Yet we all know there will be a Extended Cut of this film coming out before too long with extra stuff. These types of movies usually do, I would be shocked if the same was not true for this one. Enjoy Friends!

Quality: From the little clip of this I seen quality seems to be good for a DVDscreener. From the looks of it there is black and white screens. From what I viewed I could not see any watermarks. Audio sounded fine as well. This might be the copy for you if you can’t wait for a Retail DVDrip. Edit: There appears to be a Sony Water Mark blurred out. Hefty did a good job of blurring it out cause I missed it first time around.

Update: Step.Brothers.2008.DVDSCR.DVDR-THGS released.

Synopsis: Brennan Huff (Ferrell) and Dale Doback (Reilly) are deadbeat man-children thrown together when the single parents with whom they live marry. The two initially despise one another, but become fast friends over a shared love of ninjas, COPS, porno mags, and the comforts of living in the fantasy world of a prolonged adolescence. What makes STEPBROTHERS so much fun, however, has nothing to do with story or script; rather, it’s McKay’s foresight to step back and let Ferrell and Reilly run wild. The duo kick and punch, fart and burp, laugh and cry, yet somehow elevate such banalities to a level of grotesque poetry, hitting upon what feels like an entirely new comedic language.

ivr already got the TC, should i just keep that? is this copy that much better? thanks.

4. sc0rff [staff] says:

@ 3 (pearljamaussie): Depends what you have, if you have Step.Brothers.TC.XviD-COALiTiON, it has a bad aspect ratio (faces appear thin) and this DVDSCR has a higher resolution too.

5. pearljamaussie says:

ahh ok, i hadnt checked out the TC but yeah thats the one i had. Thanks sc0rff, ill grab this then.

You would be lucky to ever get a response out of r.log staff member let alone that quick!

Thanks heaps mate.

6. Armstrong14 says:

Can’t wait for this release! :D I have the Screener, but it’s not good enough :P Anyways, the DVD doesn’t hit stores until December 2, so this’ll be the best copy until the DVDRip releases next month sometime!

7. mr cool says:

i don’t know if it is just me but i am pretty sure there is a watermark that has been blurred out in the screenshot just under the "Ri" in "Richard Jenkins"

9. sc0rff [staff] says:

@ 7 (mr cool): Yes, it appears to be the Sony logo, like the previous Pineapple Express DVDSCR.

11. jackfrost says:

Theres already been a better copy of this released, it was like 2-3 days ago a R5 copy came out. Why would anyone want this one when it turns black and white and has a watermark?? When the other one is basically a dvd quality rip and has no watermark or black and white… This video shouldn’t have been posted…

12. mr cool says:

@ 9 (sc0rff): I just thought i would point it out because "TheBlueMeep" said there was not a watermark. although i do not usually like blurring out of logos in screeners i have seen the x264 version with the sony logo shown and it is alot better with the blur.

13. YellowSnow says:

@ jackfrost
Who released that R5

14. SkY says:

There is a R5 (actually TC) released by DEViSE (non scene).

It doesn’t have the B&W scenes so I think I’m gonna go for that one! Or is the video/audio far more superior at this one?

15. sc0rff [staff] says:

@ 11 (jackfrost): The scene TC release has bad aspect ratio. The R5 by p2p group DEViSE is actually a TC not R5.

@ 14 (SkY): DVDSCR trumps TC in the line of quality according to scene releasing standards as a TC can often have line audio.

16. TheBlueMeep [staff] says:

HEFTY did a good job on blurring out that Sony logo, completely could not tell it was there when I took the snaps and keep in mind I said "From what I viewed I could not see any watermarks." Releases like these are really hard to judge sometimes unless one sits down and watches the whole thing or the NFO gives more detail. I will add a note about the watermark in my post.

19. AV says:

just stay with the TC, i can’t see/hear any difference in picture/sound quality (higher resolution |= higher quality) so all you get is a watermark + black/white scenes

and if the aspect ratio bothers you just get a decent player and set it right

21. jackfrost says:

Why did hefty release this when theres a devise version out there that is basically the same quality and sound without that dumb watermark?? And heftys also has black and white scenes which destroy great comedys like this.

22. sc0rff [staff] says:

@ 21 (jackfrost): Because DEViSE are p2p, so their release dose not count, in their eyes the only other release is the TC by COALiTiON.
