Just about all of the new Will Ferrell movies are a total miss with me. I personally think he needs to stop churning out comedies that are carbon copies of anything he’s done since Anchorman (Stranger Than Fiction excluded). I have heard some alright things about this movie though, but that still hasn’t made me feel the need to see it. Perhaps now with this screener from NEPTUNE, I might get around to watching it.

ReeGed: Will Ferrell rules!!

Quality: Quality is high/good, but it’s obvious that it’s not a DVDrip. Still very watchable though. Picture is cropped by a slight amount

Synopsis: Brennan Huff (Ferrell) and Dale Doback (Reilly) are deadbeat man-children thrown together when the single parents with whom they live marry. The two initially despise one another, but become fast friends over a shared love of ninjas, COPS, porno mags, and the comforts of living in the fantasy world of a prolonged adolescence. What makes STEPBROTHERS so much fun, however, has nothing to do with story or script; rather, it’s McKay’s foresight to step back and let Ferrell and Reilly run wild. The duo kick and punch, fart and burp, laugh and cry, yet somehow elevate such banalities to a level of grotesque poetry, hitting upon what feels like an entirely new comedic language.

i actually thought this movie was really hilarious. i like both these guys and the only Ferrell movie i really didnt like much was Semi-Pro. so imo McKay has made a good amount of funny movies.

Screener means VHS copy, which is also why the aspect ratio is 4:3.

Looks like a VHS Screener..picture quality is very bad and the movie itself is not much better.

SCREENER means recorded from a hotel pay per view channel… VHS… lol, c’mon people its 2008, people don’t actually use VHS for screeners.

Notice how these “screeners” have no watermarks or property of messages, that’s because their not academy screeners, they from hotel pay per view channels.

I agree with ReeGeed (except for his performance in Semi-Pro)!

If anyone wants to know the quality on this screener, I downloaded it from a private scene site… Anyways, the video and audio quality isn’t the best for a screener… It’s still pretty decent though… Here’s what I find.

The video is weird… When you see it, you’ll notice right away… The color black in the movie is sort of a tinted dark blue, to be honest… The video isn’t as sharp as it should be, either, it’s too smooth…

Also, the audio sounds a little like the audio from the TS copy, to be totally honest, this audio is better, I mean Mamma Mia had perfect screener audio… If you’ve seen the sample for the TS version, you’ll know what I mean.

All in all, this copy is the best by far (of course ), and I would recommend this to anyone who can’t wait for the dvdrip, which I will also be getting, as well as the unrated version (hopefully only the unrated dvdrip releases and not the regular version LOL)!

I agree 100% with every thing Jesse said, and I think this might be the first time I actually don’t bother even trying to watch the new Will Ferrel, It just makes me angry to see the crap he churns out these days
