Before the TV madness starts tonight I bring you this release by iNTiMiD. It’s an anime release and from having checked out the trailer it looks pretty interesting. Most of the time, you either like anime or you don’t. It probably helps if you’re a fan of Japanese pop culture in general which I am. Even so I haven’t seen a lot of anime which I like a lot (apart from the classics of course like Akira) so if you have any recommendations, drop a line in the comments.
Quality: High quality, standard DVDRip. Naturally English subtitles are included in the release since the language spoken is Japanese.
Synopsis: In a world where sorcery and science co-exist, the power of magic comes with a price: humans who do not take proper precautions are transformed into horrific demons. Those who destroy these demons - and run the highest risk of all - are tactical sorcerists known as Strait Jackets. But when terrorists unleash a plague of demonic carnage, the Sorcery Management Bureau must enlist unlicensed assassin Leiot Steinberg to stop the slaughter. Even if this rogue killer and a mysterious young girl can end the outbreak, will they be able to face their own dark secrets? Monsters, murder and redemption collide in this explosive anime written by Ichiro Sakaki (SCRAPPED PRINCESS) and based on his popular novel.

Thank you for the news.
An anime recommendation would HAVE to be, "Death Note". Specially since you seem to be picky with what anime you like, this one is already a classic.

"In a world where sorcery and science co-exist"
they mean New Jersey.
pretty sure they mean New Jersey..

Appleseed is pretty good. also Ghost in the Shell is one of my favourites. and stuff like Howl’s Moving Castle and Latpula are fairly awesome too
October 5th, 2008 at 10:49 pm
Pretty much all Studio Ghibli movies are worth a watch. Porco Rosso, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away and Howl’s Moving Castle are my favourites from Miyazaka. ‘Course, these aren’t exactly hidden gems.
October 5th, 2008 at 10:50 pm
And that would ofcourse be Miyazaki, not Miyazaka.
October 5th, 2008 at 10:53 pm
I haven’t seen much anime either, but I was going to recommend Ghost in the Shell, Spirited Away and Howl’s Moving Castle. People have already mentioned these so I guess they’re a solid choice.
October 5th, 2008 at 10:59 pm
appleseed is really good (recommended 720p) also vexille

Anime!! It excites me even though it’s probably trash.
I too have not seen a great deal which has impressed me much..
Akira as mentioned, best by a long way and one of my fave films of all time. The Miyazaki films are pretty good too, my favourite is Porco Rosso but most of the older stuff is good. I like Spirtied Away and Howl’s but they seem be losing there magic now.
Ninja Scroll is another of my faves, amazing action and great characters. Apart from that I have not seen anything else too great, I enjoyed Ghost in the Shell but not THAT much. Appleseed was supremely average and.. thats it.
Hey, Barefoot Gen is pretty amazing too but fairly depressing, still something nice to terrify yourself with.
Err, well that’s the only good stuff I can think off, you’ve seen Akira, it’s all downhill from there.
Perfect Blue is supposed to be great. not seen it though.
Seems to me that most of it is just trash, a mishmash of prepubescent fantasies, lot’s of panty flashing, rediculous legends come to pass, demons, robots.. I don’t know why it’s so popular.
Hey, even Miyazaki (the Walt Disney of anime) loves to flash the panties, preferably little white ones worn by little girls…
God, I wish I had never watched Akira.. You will never find anything of the same quality..

Hey, if anyone is interested..

Paprika, Millenium Actress and Perfect Blue if you’re in more intelectual films and offcourse if you want blood then the Ninja Scroll is a must see
October 6th, 2008 at 7:54 am
as others have said, Appleseed and Appleseed Ex Machina are visually amazing CGI anime, thats the kind of stuff Pixar should be doing.
October 6th, 2008 at 8:25 am
@ 31 (lostsouldier): well, reeged gave us the source and told us it would include subs, so he lied to us.
October 6th, 2008 at 10:20 am
Subs were packed with this originally, seems they’ve gotten lost on it’s journey along the intertubes.
October 6th, 2008 at 10:27 am
If their do exist subs, could someone please upload them.
October 6th, 2008 at 11:02 am
There are subs for this release, it seems like all the public trackers are getting their stuff from the same place… and are rather careless with things like subs… i’ve found links to private subs that do contain the subs, but since they’re private, i can’t download the subs. i’d appreciate alot if someone with access to the subs would post them.
October 6th, 2008 at 1:25 pm
nice post, someone have a link to the trailer that isnt in japan, cause its damn slow from there
October 6th, 2008 at 1:29 pm
btw the full release including subs is on thepeerhub
October 6th, 2008 at 2:39 pm
Not seeing english subs on any of the sub sites either. Torrent currently appears to be the only way to get the english subs. Release hasn’t been posted on usenet yet.
