The greatest film of all time. Sure it’s a cliché so say that, but I really can’t think of a more complete film than “The Godfather”. Being a lover of mafia films helps my case but I think anyone with a love for movies would say this is a pure masterpiece of cinema. It is the number two on the IMDB list of the top movies of all time and a 100% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Finally it’s here in High Definition. It was a few years ago that I saw this film last so I think its definitely worth a re-watch in 720p. If you haven’t seen it, NOW IS THE TIME!

Quality: Absolutely brilliant. It feels great to finally see this in High Definition. The source is 1920×1080 but its been scaled down to 1280×720. This was released as a box set, so you can expect Godfather 2 and 3 to follow soon. I hope you’ll enjoy this film as much as I have.

Based on the best-selling novel by Mario Puzo (who co-wrote the screenplay with director Francis Ford Coppola), THE GODFATHER tells an epic tale of Mafia life in America during the 1940s and 1950s. Vito Corleone (Marlon Brando) is the family patriarch balancing a love of his family with an ambitious criminal instinct.
