Up.720p.BluRay.DXVA.x264-DEViSE63
Here’s DEViSE with a BluRay rip of the movie “Up”. Enjoy this movie in 720p! Also, I questioned myself upon seeing the new tag in the rls name. Seems like DEViSE has come out with something new. Source: nfo “We, the DEViSE team decided to start releasing a new type of releases, so we can provide as always the best possible quality. This new type are the mini bluray encodes. They are half the size of the standard 720p, sometimes they will be even smaller. Compared to the 720p they are the same quality or better. The audio codec used in this releases is AAC, because of the good compression and features.” There you have it guys, Great quality 720p’s just smaller sizes! What more could you ask for??
Quality: Disney movies always look fantastic in HD. So this release definitely looks great!

Can anyone confirm #46 is real and working?
Don’t want to start downloading another fake…

same quality or better ? NO WAY DEViSE …

I’m with Audio Man. These fucking kids don’t understand what compression does, they don’t understand image quality and they don’t understand studio quality audio.
Probably because most of these suckers watch this on inferior equipment. Most average people have no clue what they use or watch. "look, i got this shiny new "flat-tv" for only $399, but it has to be good ’cause it’s flat"
Why the fuck would they release blu-ray, sacd and other high quality media if you could just compress it and it would still be "as good or better" as these idiots put it.
I’m just glad I’m not the one with my fucking head up my ass when it comes to technical stuff. But as they say: "Ignorance is bliss". And if there is one thing there’s no shortage of in this world, it’s fucking ignorance.
Thank you.
PS: Begging for fucking links on a release site is retarded. Learn how to use USENET or whatever.

So could someone tell me what this so called "new" thing is? Mini bluray encodes? If you couldn’t bother with explaining it here now, just throw a link to a site where I can read up on it.
Or is it just regular 720p release compressed even more?
And what’s with the DXVA tag? Is it just to show they used DXVA for encoding?

@54: I don’t know about any of the tech specs on the compression etc, but I have checked this release out on my pc with a 22" widescreen LCD and also on a PS3 through a 46" fullhd TV and theatre system and I must say, for 1.5gig, the quality is amazing. I didn’t notice any artifacts and the sound was great.
I think animated movies hold the compression a lot better though, obviously.
Anyway.. thanks DEViSE for a great release. And to all the whinging nerds: Remember VHS?

@54 Why would they release a single movie on a format that takes up ten times more space than it needs to for the same quality? I have no idea. Ask the cassette tape, the compact disc, the VHS tape, and the DVD. Every single format has had improvements on its capacity due to compression and encoding advances - not because people are suddenly making less quality the norm. You’re a fool if you think that.
Just as a regular old DVD5 disc can hold five DVD quality movies on it in divx format, so too do retail Blu Ray discs not need to take up fifty or whatever gigs they are. The studios could release them in high quality 1080P MKV format, and just have them on regular DVD9! But they won’t. And they never will. Duh.
Also, does anybody have Megaupload links yet?

@54
I have yet to see any links for this that haven’t been declared fake. I know usenet very well and having been using usenet since before there was a web. I think it is very fair to ask for working links since I cannot source a valid download of this.

@58 (Bob): Check my post @46. I know I can’t vouch for my own links but I have far better things to do than waste other peoples time/bandwidth with fake shit. Maybe someone else can vouch those thinks.

Thanks Voodoo … it will take a little time to DL (I don’t have RS account). Then I can vouche for you.
